How Crystal Bowl Notes Are Determined

Our Quartz Crystal Singing Bowls are measured and tested using a Korg Orchestral tuner, model OT120. Crystal Singing bowls are not measured by frequencies. They are measured by their musical notes. Unlike metal bowls, they keep a smooth steady note instead of having many competing overtones. Musical notes are measured even further by measuring their 'cents'. Cents are measured from -50 cents, to +50 cents. 0 in the very center means the bowl is a perfect pitch, though if it is +5, +10, -5, or -10, it is also perfect pitch, as that small of a difference is barely noticeable. If you see, for example, A-25, it means that the note is an A, but is -25 cents away from being perfect pitch.
